Vancouver ocean summer camps

Looking for a way to keep your child engaged this summer? Hoping to inspire them to explore the world around them? Join us at the beach for some fun learning! 

Sea Smart’s week-long summer camps in Vancouver encourage children to explore nature in a safe and fun outdoor environment. From developing scientific skills and identifying cool critters, to conducting research projects - our engaging and friendly Ocean Educators will help them learn about different marine ecosystems and the impact human activity has on them. They’ll walk away with new friends and knowledge, and will be able to help advocate for and protect our ocean so that the next generation can enjoy them, too!

*Age of your child by Dec 31, 2024 (ie: if your child is 5 now, but they turn 6 by the end of the year, they can join our age 6-7 camps)

**These inclusive camps are open to youth identifying as girls, trans, genderqueer, gender non-binary, Two-Spirit, and gender questioning. We are working to close the gender gap in science-related fields!

Summer camp details

  • Camp Details

    Location: Kitsilano Beach or Trout Lake

    Time: 9am - 4pm, Monday to Friday (due to statutory holidays, there are no camps on Monday, July 1, or Monday, August 5, 2024) 

    Cost: $400 for 5-day camps; $320 for 4-day camps (bursaries available)

    Lunch and snacks are NOT included

  • Extreme Weather Policy

    Sea Smart will keep families informed about potential changes due to extreme weather. These may include activities in the shade, low-activity days, water games, moving to an indoor location, half-days, or camp cancellations.

  • Cancellation Policy

    Withdrawals made 30+ days before the camp start date = Full refund

    Withdrawals made between 29 days - 7 days before the camp start date = 50% refund

    Withdrawals made 6 days or less before the camp start date = No refund

    Please note that there is a $50 admin fee for all cancellations.

Bursary Program

We're so glad you're here! At Sea Smart, we aim to inspire a love for the ocean in every child - no matter what their financial resources are. Our bursary program supports families by covering part or all of the cost of a one-week summer camp.

After filling out your form, we will be in touch with you regarding your application. Once approved, we will provide instructions for purchase and registration.
